Orientation

The HHS Mentoring Program offers orientation sessions to introduce mentors and mentees to the Program.  Mentors and mentees are encouraged to attend the training session together if possible. These half-day orientation sessions will allow mentors and mentees to begin working together to build on their rapport and to become more familiar with their roles and responsibilities in the mentoring relationship. The session will cover the following:

• HHS Mentoring Program Overview
• Roles and Responsibilities
• Mentoring Agreement
• Confidentiality
• Individual Development Planning
• Ending the formal mentoring relationship

Employees are required to complete the orientation through instructor-led classroom training or online via the LMS. Employees who have completed a mentoring orientation within the last year (i.e., 12 months) are exempt from this requirement. In addition to the mandatory orientation, participants are encouraged to engage in ongoing training activities. Below are the planned instructor-led orientation sessions. You may register for instructor led sessions by accessing the Learning Management System (LMS) at http://lms.learning.hhs.gov. or take the online version of this training by clicking on the following link

*The HHS Mentoring Program reserves the right to cancel or reschedule classes as needed up to 3 days before the session start date due to low enrollment. Students will be notified at least 3 days prior to the session start date via email of orientation session cancellations.
